Home Servers

You do not need to be highly technical to have a server in your home. Computers are becoming more as a medium to access information to a remote location. You can have your own server using 2 different methods: through a desktop computer or through a home server.

Desktop Computer

Having a desktop to use as your main repository is a great solution. You can configure the desktop's network settings to share on your network or you can use remote logon software. An effective free remote logon software is LogMeIn.

Server

A server in your home is available via Network Attached Storage (NAS). Having a NAS will allow you to have a central location for all of your files and to share media (music, pictures, video, etc.).
